In 1981, Anne S. K. Brown (Mrs. John Nicholas Brown) donated her military collection to Brown University Library. With the collection cames Mrs. Brown's papers and other documents relating to the collection although her private correspondence did not come to the library until after her death in 1985. This material provides a documentary history of the collection and her military interests and pursuits.

Abstract:
This collection focuses primarily on Marty Mann, a key figure in early alcoholism treatment and awareness in the United States and one of the first women to successfully complete AA's recovery program. Most of the collection is made up of the research materials assembled by Reverend Sally Brown and her husband, David, in writing "A Biography of Mrs. Marty Mann: The First Lady of Alcoholics Anonymous." The materials include articles by and about Marty Mann, Sally and David Brown's research notes, materials from collaborators on Mann's biography, information regarding Priscilla Peck, Mann's partner, interview transcripts, information on organizations that deal with alcoholism, photographs, audio tapes and material devoted to other important figures in the alcoholism movement and the early homosexual and lesbian movement.

This collection contains the organizational records of COYOTE Rhode Island, a group of sex workers, former sex workers, trafficking victims, and allies, who advocate for policies that promote the health and safety of people involved in the sex industry. Materials include administrative records; special project files such as the COYOTE-RI Impact Survey and Sex Workers Outreach Project pen pal letters; subject files regarding other advocacy organizations; public records of court cases, arrests, and legislation relating to prostitution; and informational zines and booklets. This collection consists of the professional papers of Joan DeJean, Trustee Professor Emerita of Romance Languages at University of Pennsylvania. She was a scholar of French literature focused on the history of women's writing, sexuality, the development of the novel, and material culture in 17th- and 18th-century France. The collection includes correspondence, typed and handwritten drafts of talks, and audio cassettes featuring an interview with Germaine Brée (1907–2001) and recorded Modern Language Association conferences. Abstract:
Dr. Anthony Merlino, a 1951 graduate of Providence College, collected a large personal library of books, recordings, and memorabilia concerning President John F. Kennedy, his family, and their associates over the course of his lifetime. This collection is a small subset of the original collection covering the myriad conspiracy theories that arose and circulated in American society following Kennedy’s assassination in 1963. The collection is primarily comprised of small-run serial publications. It also includes copies of recordings of Kennedy’s meetings and speeches while in office, audio recordings of conspiracy theorists’ radio shows, and reproductions of films and photography which captured the assassination.

Abstract:
The collection's significance is greatly enhanced by the personal nature of the exchange of letters between John F. Kennedy and Harold L. Tinker. The subject matter of the correspondence includes Kennedy's comments on the life and career of his older brother, Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.; his thought on the senselessness of war; his ambition to do what he could in the future to prevent another war; and personal and familial matters. The collection also includes additional correspondence between Tinker and other individuals, including Mrs. Rose Kennedy, personal friends of Kennedy, and Tinker's own friends and acquaintances. The magazine and newspaper materials document Kennedy's political fortunes, his family's activities, his assassination and reactions to it; and various types of memorial tributes to him.
